Lightspeed is pleased to announce the new LightMic™ available summer of 2006. This unique wireless microphone is a hands-free, pendant-style microphone for the teacher and a handheld pass-around microphone for the students. This lightweight (less than 4 ounces), compact infrared transmitter floods the room with an infrared signal that, when
combined with a Lightspeed sensor, guarantees no drop outs—even when the teacher is facing a whiteboard.

In addition to ensuring high quality sound and speech intelligibility, the new LightMic™ is virtually unbreakable and is designed to survive the many falls that tend to occur in a classroom environment. It comes with an industry leading five year warranty. If it breaks because of a drop—no problem. Lightspeed will repair or replace the LightMic for free.

The LightMic™ underwent thorough ergonomic testing and is designed for the teacher and for students. The pendant style microphone was created to fit both around the neck, and comfortably in a small hand. The LightMic™ can quickly detach from the lanyard for use by a student. The switches were designed for ease of tactile identification, and avoiding accidental actuation.

Product Highlights for the New LT-71 LightMic™
Lightspeed was the first to develop this truly wireless pendant-style microphone and we continue to search for new ways to make our infrared microphones the best in the industry. Following are the latest enhancements to the most popular classroom microphone.

Enhanced Durability
Lightspeed understands the rigors of the classroom. That is why we designed a new microphone that is practically indestructible. The LightMic™ has passed hundreds of drop tests on carpet, tile and concrete from heights ranging from 32 inches to 20 feet.

Improved Sound Quality
The microphone element is positioned further forward in the unit and there has been additional acoustical porting added to the case to further optimize both the overall sound quality and the gain before feedback. Those who have used other classroom audio systems will immediately be impressed with the quality and clarity of speech intelligibility produced by systems using the new LightMic™.

New Auxiliary Input
A second input was added to this microphone to accept a microphone level signal as well as a full line level signal, allowing the user to truly integrate with any audio source. Teachers can easily share music or recorded stories just by plugging an iPod™ or any other playback device directly into the microphone. An external microphone input is included for those teachers that prefer to use a headset or lapel style microphone.

Cradle Charger
Another new feature with this microphone is the ability to charge the unit from a cradle style charger. The specially designed charger can be connected either to an electrical outlet or by using the standard cables connected to the back of the amplifier.

Mute Function
A teacher occasionally needs to temporarily turn off the audio to the system for private conversations or individual teaching. The new LightMic adds the convenience of the mute function into a single on-off/mute switch. To mute the microphone, simply switch the power off. This simple two-position switch has no popping sound and saves battery life when switched off (muted).
